The Guest Edit: Amy Nelms
For this week's guest edit I asked internationally-respected classical Pilates instructor and founder of Flatiron Pilates, Amy Nelms, for her current essential picks for fashion, fitness and more.
Amy Nelms is a New York based Pilates instructor and the founder of Flatiron Pilates, a boutique Pilates studio in New York that is always one of my first stops when I’m in the city. With over 25 years of experience, Amy is known for her meticulous precision and discerning eye, quickly identifying physical strengths and weaknesses to curate a personalized regimen for achieving physical balance and strength. Amy and Flatiron Pilates have been featured in media including Goop, Vogue, Forbes and Net-a-Porter. Here are 7 of Amy’s picks for summer, from Pilates essentials to the everyday items that she can’t go without.
The most flattering and comfortable turtleneck bodysuit ever. This is my work uniform and easily transitions from day to night.
Chic, elegant design that compliments my studio with the perfect oregano scent.
Heaven for your feet! The best foot massage ever. Meticulously designed to enhance foot alignment and strength, it lifts the arch of the foot, improving balance and gait.
I love the polished mirror exterior and the organic shape of the minimalist design.
This is my favorite stool. It is made from recycled cork and features a central column that flexes and pivots in response to your movements. That means, that while sitting you are still subtly activating muscles to maintain balance. The spine is kept straight and muscles are slightly engaged, reducing fatigue and back strain while at the same time working your core. Great for the office and chic enough for home.
Macrene High Performance Face Cream
I start work at 7am and this miracle cream delivers intense moisture to keep my skin hydrated and glowing all day.
Jennifer Fisher My Scent Perfume Oil
This warm musky blend of oils is the perfect scent. Not only does it smell amazing and last all day, it compliments without overpowering.
