The 7 Series: My top London Restaurants
See my current top restaurants in London from a special date night to quick lunchtime bite.
Living in the heart of Soho means I have London on my doorstep and love to try new restaurants. I think dining out is a special time to catch up with family and friends and explore new areas of London. I have curated my current top 7 go to places in London, so if you bump into me there, don’t be surprised!
Dorian - Notting Hill
This newly Michelin starred restaurant is a new favourite spot of mine. I try to eat mainly vegan/vegetarian but at Dorian anything goes. Everything is fresh and inventive but at the same time classic, and the perfect sized portions. As soon as you enter you feel the welcoming energy of the chefs from the open kitchen but also all your fellow diners. If you are two, it’s special to sit at the bar and watch all the talented chef’s at work.
Mount Street Restaurant- Mayfair
This has been a go-to of mine since it was re-opened by Hauser & Wirth last year. It brings together food and drink, craftsmanship and culture all in once space. You are greeted by an amazing ‘Broken Floor’, palladiano mosaic floor by Rashid Johnson at the restaurant and you’ll spot many iconic art pieces hanging on the walls as you eat. It has a modern British menu, and is my current go-to breakfast spot in London.
Toklas - The Strand
Toklas opened a few years ago and is still in my top 7 restaurants, it has a classic Mediterranean menu and really delicious cocktails to pair. It’s located at 180 The Strand, and has a beautiful outdoor terrace, so in the summer it is a lovely dinner or lunch spot. There is also The Toklas Bakery right next door which offers an evolving selection of freshly baked breads, pastries and sandwiches if you wanted to grab something on-the-go.
Klear Labs - Notting Hill
My favourite bakery in London. It’s fresher bakes, gluten-free bakery with delicious Matcha and teas (I don’t drink coffee). My favourites are the Keto Rye Bread or Collagen cookie. I will often go on a Monday morning to buy some fresh bread to have at home for the week.
Akira - Oakley Court
This one may be slightly cheating, but a short 40 minute drive from London will take you to Oakley Court Hotel, in Windsor, the perfect city escape for a night. On Friday and Saturday’s, Master Chef Akira from Japan House serves an amazing Omakase which you can enjoy during lunch or dinner whilst making the most of the gorgeous views of the landscaped gardens and The River Thames.
Bebe Bob - Soho
Right on my doorstep in Soho is Bebe Bob, a very new opening by Bob Bob Ricard. It is quite possibly the most glamourous Rotisserie chicken restaurant in London, with a simple menu focussed on the finest caviar, chicken, wine and champagne. What more could you want? If you want to try something a bit different and new in the heart of Soho, this is your place!
The River Cafe - Hammersmith
Last but not least, The River Cafe is everyones favourite restaurant in London for a reason. The menu changes everyday with classic, delicious Italian food which never disappoints. I love to go there for a special birthday lunch or dinner with my family. If you go, you have to try any of the pasta dishes, and the Chocolate Nemesis or Lemon Tart cake is a must!
