My Little New York Black Book
I recently visited NYC to launch Alex Eagle Studio in the US, and these are the places I always make sure I go to when I'm in the city! Along with the chicest Car Boot that's happening in May.
Desert Vintage
The best place for vintage one off pieces, where all the fashion stylists head to pick up everything from Comme des Garçons to Helmut Lang. I’m currently loving Vintage Junya Watanabe Knits. Founded in 1974 on the eclectic boulevard of 4th avenue in Tucson, Arizona. It is the best place in town.
Bode
Arguably, one of the coolest brands right now. Founded by Emily Bode, the brand is a divine mix of bohemian with an edge. Their flagship store is a must-go every time I’m in the city.
La Garconne
A minimal lovers mix of classics and interesting pieces, there is a little bit of something for everyone and the designer collections seamlessly flow between androgyny, femininity, and masculinity, depending on your style. They have an amazing selection of jewellery too.
Makié
Another one of my favourites, especially for kids and babies clothes. They do the sweetest sets for children and I love stocking up on pieces every time I go. My children love it to!
Raf’s
If you’re looking for some great food when you’re in NYC, this is your answer! Chic interiors with an old school classic feel and delicious food makes it great for anything from lunch meetings to more intimate dinners.
The Odeon
From one good restaurant to another, The Odeon is a classic that has remained just as good as it was when it first opened. If you want to go somewhere that will have guaranteed atmosphere and amazing food, look no further. The sense of nostalgia and history is rifle and is the reason why people keep coming back for a sense of that NYC charm. You can’t go wrong with their burger and fries.
The perfect place for a fun mix of European tableware and assorted homeware pieces. You’ll find a treasure trove of everything from platters, to fun plates and amazing glassware.
Scully and Scully
On the subject of classic NYC destinations, every time I go here I find treasures. The place to find investment pieces that you’ll own forever, the experience has that chic old school feel and is not to be missed.
MOMA
One of the best places in NYC that is always a must see. It’s possible to spend all day in there and still want to go back the next day. It’s worth becoming a member just to go early on Saturday/Sunday mornings and beat the crowds.
Instagrams
There are a few accounts below I would highly recommend following for daily inspiration and vintage sourcing:
desertvintage: the best place for vintage designer and one off pieces.
flatironpilates: the best pilates in nyc.
themuseumofmodernart : best place for inspiration.
thatgirlbeverly: for some great outfit inspiration.
Something I’m loving this week is:
A Ticket for the Women for Women Car Boot Sale, #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale has raised over £1.2 million to support women living in some of the world's most dangerous places. It is for a great cause and is arguably the chicest car boot sale in town!
