Introducing The 7 Series
Welcome to my Substack! I want this to be a space where share all my favourite things from fashion, style, art, travel, literature and more.
As a Creative Director, I spend my life curating and creating in so many different areas of my work from interiors to fashion, art and wellness. I want The 7 Series to be my personal curation guide, creating small and (hopefully) inspiring tips and picks. My first 7 are going to be my top 7 wardrobe picks for 2024.
I truly believe that simple, elevated essentials are the building blocks to anyones wardrobe. I have curated my top 7 wardrobe essentials I believe are worth the investment, and will carry you through from meetings to dinner and weekend walks.
A perfect pair of Jeans
I tend to gravitate towards a good pair of vintage jeans. If you have time, go to Brick Lane or Portobello Road and spend a Saturday finding and trying the perfect vintage jeans on. I also recommend buying a few sizes bigger and tailoring at the waist for the perfect, relaxed baggy look. I found vintage Levis online too, if you are patient you can also find some for a good price online too!
Agolde Denim also do really good, lived in, classic jeans. They also come a size or two big which is a plus!
A classic Cashmere Jumper
A mid-weight cashmere jumper is a must-have wardrobe staple that will carry you to spring and beyond. I think investing in a classic shape and colour is the way to go, as you will find yourself grabbing it year on year, and will never regret it. See some of my favourites below.

A staple Black Coat
A black coat is something you will never regret buying or investing in. My top tip would be to go for something a bit more elevated and smart, perhaps a double-breasted style. This is because it can be easily dressed-down with a hoodie or joggers and worn during the day, but also doubles as the perfect evening outerwear piece in the colder months.

A Power Suit
I think a beautifully-made, masculine suit is the perfect addition to any wardrobe. It can be worn as a elevated evening wear, or broken down with a pair of joggers or t-shirt. I have spent a long-time perfecting the tailoring by Alex Eagle Studio and therefore they are the only suits I wear. All of our tailoring is hand-crafted by a team of expert tailors in our Soho Studio, designed to have a relaxed silhouette which can be easily dressed up or down.
A simple Shirt
A good fitting shirt is the bedrock of so many of my outfits. You want something that is a classic shape and made from good quality cotton so it lasts. I have a few that are more oversized that I can wear layered with a vest under in the summer and a few that are more fitted and can be tucked into jeans. See some suggestions below!
A timeless Belt
Finding an elevated, but staple belt is the key to instantly elevating the most simple outfit. Anderson’s do some really great quality belts at a good price, and Khaite do some really special belts that will transform any look.
An effortless Bag
A handbag that will transform from day to night and seamlessly blend into any wardrobe or look is always a great wardrobe addition. Browse HEWI’s selection of beautiful second-hand bags or Metier’s selection of simple, chic and elevated bags for inspiration.
You’re brilliant!!!
